Team Aces
Archery Team
Team Aces is a competitive archery team. Our team attends all the SAAM and local FITA tournaments and some USA Archery national tournaments where members compete together with the assistance of their coaches. To build team spirit and improve the individual’s skills the entire team practices together on Sunday mornings from 9:00 am to 11:45 am both indoors and outdoors depending on the season. We also practice on Thursday evenings from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. These practices are open to students who would like to practice more and learn from the team.
Joining the team exposes archers to the much larger archery community which is one of the most valued assets of being an archer in this part of the country. Not only do teammates support each other, but you’ll find the entire archery community does the same.
Members of the Ace Archers JOAD (ages 8-20 years old) and Adult (older than 20 years old) programs may be invited to join Team Aces when the athlete meets specific score and form qualifications. Membership to the team also depends on space to ensure team members can receive adequate practice time and coaching.
An invite to the team is always at the discretion of the coaches.
Qualifications:
JOAD and Adult members must have shot the qualifying score for their Blue Pin at least twice in official scoring environments to be asked to join our Team. These scores must be achieved on a 40 cm target face.
Requirements:
Team members are expected to:
- Be a member of USA Archery
- Maintain a subscription to the Team/Class Membership
- Attend class or team practice on a regular basis and complete additional practice weekly
- We like our team members to achieve a state ranking. To do so, you must shoot in the Massachusetts Indoor and Outdoor State Championships, three other indoor SAAM ranking tournaments per year, and one other outdoor SAAM ranking tournament per year
- Wear a team uniform when attending tournaments
- Own their own archery equipment
